  • The Central Tuber Crops Research Institute (CTCRI) has a Regional Centre located at Aiginia, Bhubaneswar (8 km south of the city on NH-S), Orissa. It functions as the nodal Centre for tuber crops research, development and technology dissemination in the greater Eastern India. The Regional Centre was established in 1976 as a Tuber Crops Introduction and Phytosanitary Screening Centre at Cuttack but later shifted to the present site in 1993 to intensify research on various aspects of tropical tuber crops catering to the needs of Eastern and North Eastern India.
  • The Regional Centre undertakes research on tuber crops such as sweet potato (I/Jomoea batatas (L.) Lam.), taro (Colocasia esculenta (L.) Schott), elephant foot yam (Amorp/lOp/wllits paeoniifolilts (Dennst) icoloson), cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz), greater yam (Dioscorea alata L.), lesser yam (Dioscorea esculenta Lour. Burk), white yam (Diosrorea rotulldata Pair), yam bean (Pacl1)'rrhiZlts erosus (L.) Urban), chinese potato (Solenostemoll mtundifolius (Poir) .K. Morton) and arrowroot (Maranw anmdinacea L.).
