The awareness campaign on Soil Health Management and Balanced Use of Fertilizers was inaugurated by Mr. Sanil Kumar S, Standing committee Chairman of Varkala Block Panchayat. Ms. Nassema Beevi, Assistant Director of Agriculture (ADA), delivered the welcome address. Dr. Sheela Immanuel, Principal Scientist, ICAR-CTCRI, provided an overview of the programme and also briefed about the institute and its activities. Dr. S. Sunitha, Principal Scientist, ICAR-CTCRI, handled a session on the balanced use of fertilizers, emphasizing ways to enhance yield, reduce the cost of cultivation, and maintain soil health among the participants. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Prakash and Mr. Aswin Raj P. Planting materials such as cassava and sweet potato were distributed to the farmers. About 100 farmers from 8 Krishi Bhavan participated in the programme including Agricultural Officers.
