BRAINSTORMING ON FUSARIUM DISEASES IN TROPICAL TUBER CROPS
ICAR-CTCRI organized a brainstorming session on “Fusarium Diseases in Tropical Tuber Crops: Emerging Challenges and Research Priorities”, bringing together leading scientists and experts from ICAR institutes, Kerala Agricultural University, KVKs, and line departments.
The programme featured addresses by Dr. R. Viswanathan, President, Indian Phytopathological Society and former Director, ICAR-ISRI; Dr. R. Thangavelu, Director, ICAR-NRIIPM, New Delhi; and several other eminent scientists and experts from across the country.
The deliberations focused on emerging Fusarium threats, pathogen diversity, diagnostics, surveillance, host resistance, and integrated disease management strategies, culminating in key recommendations to strengthen research, preparedness, and sustainable disease management for safeguarding tropical tuber crop production in India.
