A farmers training programme entitled " Production and Processing Techniques of Tuber Crops " was organised under Tribal Sub Plan project by ICAR-CTCRI on 15.7.2026 at Community Agro biodiversity Centre of MSSRF, Puthoorvayal, Wayanad. It was inaugurated by Smt. Chandrika Krishnan, President, Wayanad District Panchayath and presided over by Dr. Neeraj Joshi, Director, CAbC, MSSRF Wayanad. Dr Thampan, C. Senior Fellow, MSSRF coordinated the programme and K.P.Jayachandran, District Coordinator, Kudumbasree Mission was the guest of honour. Dr. M.S. Sajeev, briefed about the TSP programme being implemented by ICAR-CTCRI. During the technical session, classes were taken on Production technology of tuber crops by Dr. K.Sunilkumar, Value addition and enterpreneurship development by Dr M.S.Sajeev and Practicals on minisett technology by Sri. Satheesan, B. It was attended by more than 100 farmers from different parts of wayanad district. Followed by this an awareness session on contingency plan to manage El Nino risks was taken by Dr. K.Sunilkumar.Planting materials of sweet potato, cassava and coleus, biopesticide-Nanma etc were distributed.
