ICAR-Central Tuber Crops Research Institute

ICAR-CTCRI organized a Farmers’ Training and Distribution of Planting Materials at Kulathur, Parassala Block, on 8 October 2026. The programme was organized under the SCSP-Institute Project in association with the Kulathur Grama Panchayat and the Department of Agriculture.

The programme was inaugurated by Sri Jinesh, President, Kulathur Grama Panchayat, and presided over by Sri Pushpasanan Nair, Chairman, Development Standing Committee. Dr. G. Byju, Director, ICAR-CTCRI, delivered the chief address, while Dr. K. Sunilkumar briefed the gathering about the programme.

The programme was attended by Smt. Leena, Assistant Director of Agriculture; Smt. Frejini, Vice-President, Grama Panchayat; Fr. Valsalan Jose; D. T. Rejin, Technical Assistant; and Smt. Sajitha, Ward Member, who offered felicitations on the occasion.

As part of the programme, farmers were provided with 12,000 vegetable seedlings, sweet potato vine cuttings, and cassava stems.

During the technical session, Dr. K. Sunilkumar handled a session on QPM Production in Tuber Crops, while Smt. Latha Sarma (Retd. DDA) conducted a session on Vegetable Cultivation in the Homestead.
