ICAR-CTCRI organizes Training Programme on ‘Analytical Techniques in Soil, Plant and water Analysis’ for the officials of Dept.of Agriculture Development and Farmers’ Welfare
The ICAR–Central Tuber Crops Research Institute successfully organized a three-day training programme on “Analytical Techniques in Soil, Plant and water Analysis” for the officials of the Department of Agriculture Development and Farmers’ Welfare, Govt. of Kerala, during 29th June to 01July 2026.
The programme was designed to strengthen the capacity of Scientific Assistants in the soil testing laboratories for the efficient analysis of soil samples and ultimately enabling the dissemination of accurate and systematic soil test based nutrient recommendations to the farmers.
During the three-day programme, hands on training session on the analysis of essential nutrients and the estimation of soil physical properties were imparted to the twenty two participants of the training programme representing the five districts. They were also introduced to instrumentation and the fundamental principles of analytical techniques for enabling them to do the analysis of soil, plant and water samples with greater precision and accuracy.
In her presidential address, Dr. G. Suja,
Director (i/c), ICAR-CTCRI, Trivandrum emphasized the essentiality of such type of training programmes in the present scenario, to enhance the use efficiency of added nutrients and for the maintenance of soil health.
The programme was organized by the Division of Crop Production and coordinated by Dr. Jeena Mathew, Dr. V.Ramesh and Dr. Priya U K.
