ICAR-Central Tuber Crops Research Institute

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the ICAR–Central Tuber Crops Research Institute (CTCRI) and Community Agrobiodiversity Centre, M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF), Wayanad. The MoU aims to foster collaboration in nine thematic areas related to tuber crop research and development such as collection and characterization of germplasm of tubers, evolving AEU specific Package of Practices for cultivation of traditional tuber crops, processing of tubers for value addition, managing man-animal conflict in tuber based cropping systems, setting up of Tuber Heritage Centre etc.

G. Byju, Director, ICAR-CTCRI and Rangalakshmi.R., Executive Director, MSSRF, Chennai exchanged the MoU in the presence of Niraj U. Joshi, Director,CAbc MSSRF, Wayanad; C. Thamban, Senior Consultant, MSSRF and scientists of CTCRI and MSSRF During the meeting, discussions were held to outline collaborative strategies and finalize the future course of action aimed at strengthening tuber crop development and enhancing the livelihoods of marginalized tuber crop farmers across the country.
