ICAR-CTCRI in Thiruvananthapuram has signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Kerala State Kudumbashree Mission and licensed 12 technologies for production of value added food products from tuber crops.
ICAR-CTCRI director G. Byju and Kudumbashree Mission executive director H. Dineshan exchanged the MoA in a function at ICAR-CTCRI.
P.S. Sivakumar, principal scientist in charge of ABI, ICAR-CTCRI; M.S. Sajeev, principal scientist, ICAR-CTCRI; S. Shanavas, State Programme Officer, Farm Livelihoods, Kudumbashree; G. Ramesh, district mission coordinator, Kudumbashree Mission and T. Krishnakumar, scientist, ICAR-CTCRI attended the function.
Dr. G. Byju stated that CTCRI and Kudumbashree will produce and market tuber-based food products in selected districts based on local production hubs. Shri H. Dineshan added that this MoA is the first among 200 technologies Kudumbashree plans to procure from ICAR, CSIR institutions, and agri universities.
