Khet Bachao Abhiyan: ICAR-CTCRI, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, conducted a training programme on Soil Health Management and Balanced Use of Fertilizers on 11 June 2026 at Bhimpur village, Khordha district, Odisha. A total of 40 farmers actively participated in the programme. The programme was conducted with active participation and interaction from Dr. M. Nedunchezhiyan, Dr. R. Arutselvan, Sushant Kumar Jata, Amit Kumar Dangi, and K. Dandapani Reddy. Dr. R. Arutselvan welcomed the participants and emphasized the significance of sustainable soil health management practices for enhancing agricultural productivity and maintaining long-term soil fertility. Dr. M. Nedunchezhiyan delivered a lecture on soil health management and the balanced application of fertilizers, highlighting their role in improving crop productivity while sustaining soil quality. Farmers were also trained on the scientific cultivation practices of elephant foot yam, including proper planting techniques and crop management practices. The programme concluded with an interactive discussion session, during which farmers shared their queries and experiences related to crop production and soil health improvement, leading to an engaging exchange of knowledge and practical solutions.
