Director and team of scientists visited villages in Rangia block, Kamrup district, Assam in connection with monitoring of an ongoing Coconut Development Board funded research project.

Cassava and elephant foot yam varieties and production technologies are being demonstrated for evaluation.

These crops, introduced for the first time in the region, are expected to diversify the local food basket and contribute significantly to improving rural livelihoods.
