ICAR-Central Tuber Crops Research Institute

ICAR-Central Tuber Crops Research Institute (ICAR-CTCRI) observed National Reading Day on 19 June 2026 with enthusiastic participation from the staff members and students. As part of the celebration, participants engaged in a 15-minute reading session using books selected from the library collection, highlighting the importance of cultivating reading habits and promoting the use of library resources.

Following the reading session, a small interactive event was conducted to assess and encourage attentive reading. Participants were asked to identify the author, title, publisher, and year of publication of the books they had read. The event witnessed active participation and appreciation from all attendees. In addition to the staff and students of the Institute, students from the ICAR-Indian Institute of Horticultural Research, Bengaluru also participated in the programme. The celebration successfully fostered a spirit of reading and highlighted the significance of books and libraries in acquiring knowledge and lifelong learning.
