ICAR-Central Tuber Crops Research Institute, Sreekariyam observed the Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 during 27 October to 02 November 2025 with the focal theme “Vigilance : Our Shared Responsibility”. The programme was launched on 27th October by Dr. T. Makeshkumar, Director i/c, ICAR-CTCRI with the Integrity Pledge Taking Ceremony. He also sensitized the staffs and students about the shared responsibility to keep away corruption from the civic societies for the development of our Nation. Dr. Sajeev M S, Vigilance Officer explained about the importance of vigilance awareness week to eradicate corruption from public life  to achieve nations prosperity

Inauguration of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 and Integrity Pledge Taking Ceremony 

Various competitions viz., elocution and essay writing in Malayalam/English/Hindi and poster competitions were held on the focal theme “Vigilance : Our Shared Responsibility”. for the CTCRI staff. The valedictory function of Vigilance Awareness Week  was graced by Shri. Ankit Asokan  IPS, Superintendent of Police, Cyber Operations, Kerala Police, Govt. of  Kerala Thiruvananthapuram as the chief guest and delivered the valedictory address and gave away the prizes to the winners of the various competitions held in connection with the Vigilance Awareness Week 2025. In his enlightening and informative speech, he emphasized the importance of cyber security's role in daily life.He pointed out that with the increase in internet usage among people, cyber crimes are also on the rise. As parents and responsible citizens, we should keep ourselves abreast of the latest developments in cyber activities to keep our children and society at large, safe. He informed the gathering about the efforts made by the Kerala Police to prevent fraud, data / identity theft, etc. and the various software developed to help its citizens from falling prey to such fraudulent activities of scamsters. In the interactive session that followed, he answered the queries raised by the participants.              

 Dr. G. Byju, Director, ICAR-CTCRI presided over the function and in his presidential address he stressed the importance of maintaining a healthy work environment in the research field. He said, as responsible researchers, one should follow work ethics in research.  Dr. Sajeev M. S., Principal Scientist and Vigilance Officer  welcomed the gathering and Dr. A. Ashadevi proposed vote of thanks. A walkathon was also held to uphold the vigilance awareness among the staff and students.
